Bathroom Renovation, Oakridge
This full-bathroom renovation in an 18th-century home in Oakridge required careful planning and expert craftsmanship to modernise the space while preserving the property's character. Due to inadequate insulation and ageing plasterboard, we stripped the bathroom back to the studs, reinforcing the structure and installing new plasterboard with proper cavity insulation to improve energy efficiency and durability. Once secured, we carefully plastered over the walls to create a smooth, high-quality finish. With the groundwork complete, we carried out a first fix for new appliances, incorporating concealed fixtures for both the bath and shower to maintain a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. The entire suite was replaced with premium sanitary furniture, including the installation of a luxurious free-standing bath as a centrepiece. To add a touch of classic charm, the customer chose an elegant half-height timber cladding, blending traditional features with modern functionality.
To complete the transformation, they chose stylish Karndean Van Gogh plank flooring, offering the perfect balance of durability and sophistication. We also upgraded the lighting with modern spotlights for a bright, inviting atmosphere and replaced the outdated extractor fan to enhance ventilation. The end result was a beautifully renovated bathroom that seamlessly combined period charm with contemporary comfort and efficiency.
